What exactly is an Action Required? It's essentially the same thing as what is more commonly called an Action Item and is a task assigned to someone to complete with a due date. This term was originally coined by Andy Grove of Intel.
Some might try to call them tasks while others might think of them as to-dos. An action required is much more, with further requirements beyond the norm but also with much better results.
